Why don't you start a series of "dumbest" categories?  For example Dumbest Letter written on Growth Management, Dumbest Letter written on Religion, Dumbest Letter written on Local Politics, etc. Then once a month or so, we could have a contest and vote on the Monthly Grand Champion Dumbest Letter.  There would certainly be plenty of material available.  And, the possibilities are endless.
