Another Night, Another Rays’ Home Win! Bring The Brooms!
The Tampa Bay Rays continued their dominance of the Boston Red Sox last night with a 3-1 victory. Starting pitcher Matt Garza had seven strong innings, and was backed up by some strong work from the bullpen. The win extend the local baseball masters' lead in the American League East to 2 1/2 games over the Beantown Boyz, with Rays pitching ace Scott Kazmir (7-3) trying to complete the sweep tonight. He'll be going against the dangerous Daisuke Matsuzaka (9-1).
I understand there are still tickets left, but not many. Last night's game attracted 31,112 fans to The Trop...better get 'em early.
I read this morning where the TV audience for Rays baseball is growing. Monday night's win over the Red Sox attracted the highest local ratings in franchise history, with an estimated 271,000 combined homes in the Bay Area and Orlando areas. I'm actually surprised that many people could actually find the ION TV stations (Channels 56 in Orlando, 66 in Tampa/St. Pete...or is it the other way around? They're Bud Paxson's former stations...BTW: What happened to ol' Bud?).
